5 Refreshing Alcoholic Beverage Recipes

f you are entertaining your friends at your place, then you need to see to it that you have a good menu. A good menu consists of a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers, main course, desserts, side dishes and of course drinks.

It is best to have a selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. There are many choices in alcoholic drinks, from rum mixed drinks to vodka and tequila mixed drinks. Here we bring to you some alcoholic beverage recipes that you can easily make at home.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE RECIPES

Sangria

Ingredients

10 oz. vodka 12 oz. tomato juice 6 oz. orange juice 2 oz. lime juice 2 tablespoons hot sauce 1 jalapeno, seeds removed 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1 teaspoon salt Ice

Method

In a large bowl or jug, mix together the orange juice, lime juice and tomato juice. Now, add the hot sauce, salt, freshly ground pepper and the jalapeno. Stir the mixture and allow the mixture to stand for 30-35 minutes. Remove the jalapeno pepper from the mixture and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour. To serve, add ice to cocktail glasses and pour this sangria mixture into the glasses until they are half full. Top with vodka and serve immediately.

Caribbean Punch

Ingredients

24 oz. pineapple juice Juice of 5 large lemons 6 oz. dark rum 4 oz. Caster sugar 6 oz. water

Method

In a large bowl or pitcher, combine the pineapple juice, lemon juice, water and dark rum. Add the caster sugar and mix together until the sugar dissolves completely. Serve this Caribbean punch in cocktail glasses, topped with lots of ice cubes.

Refreshing Gin Cocktail

Ingredients

5 oz, gin ¼ cup mint leaves ¼ cup parsley leaves 4 tablespoons sugar 6 oz. club soda Ice cubes

Method

In a mortar and pestle, grind the mint leaves and parsley leaves. Place this ground mint and parsley leaves in a large bowl and add sugar and gin. Stir with a ladle so that the sugar dissolves in the gin. Allow this mixture to stand for 20 minutes so that the flavors can infuse. Strain the mixture with a strainer and discard the mint and parsley leaves. Pour mixture into ice-filled glasses and top with club soda. This is a very light and refreshing drink and is ideal for a summer pool party.

Pear Cocktail

Ingredients

8 oz. whisky 16 oz. pear nectar 16 oz. champagne 16 oz. water

Method

In a large pitcher, combine the whisky, water, champagne and pear nectar. Mix all the ingredients well. Pour this mixed drink in tall glasses and serve chilled.

Lime and Raspberry Cocktail

Ingredients

6 oz. lime juice 1 cup fresh raspberries Zest of ½ lemon ½ cup caster sugar 10 oz. white rum 8 oz. club soda Ice cubes

Method

In a small bowl, add the raspberries and mash them with the help of a spoon. Add the caster sugar to the mashed raspberries. Next, add the lemon zest and stir everything together. Cover the bowl and keep it aside for a few minutes. Add the lime juice to this mixture and strain it. Add white rum and club soda to this strained raspberries mixture and combine well. Serve in tall glasses topped with ice cubes.
