6 Homemade Gin Cocktail Drinks

Gin is a spirit which is infused with tones of juniper berries. This earthy spirit has a light sweet flavor and is used to make many cocktails including the ones stated below. Since its introduction, Gin has gradually achieved a very special and important position in the world of cocktail making. So, if you like cocktails which are not very strong yet have a refreshing tone, you can definitely go for the ones which are prepared with Gin.

Gin Cocktail Drinks

Gin Buck Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. of freshly squeezed lemon juice 2 oz. of Gin Ginger Ale A wedge of lemon, for garnishing

Bar Utensils

1 old fashioned glass 1 bar spoon 1 ice spade 1 citrus press 1 knife

Mixing Procedure

  1. Slice a lemon in half and then take one of the halves. Cut that part in half once more and then set aside the wedge of lemon for later use. Now take the other half of the lemon and put it into a citrus press. Press the handle of the citrus press to squeeze out the juice from the lemon and then set it aside.

  2. Now take an old fashioned glass and fill it entirely up to the top with ice cubes but make sure to leave some space for the drink. Once done, pour the Gin into the glass and follow that by adding the freshly extracted lemon juice and the Ginger Ale. Finally, give a light stir to the drink with a bar spoon and then serve it with a wedge of lemon stuck on the wall of the glass.

Alcudia Cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz. of Gin 1 oz. of freshly extracted grapefruit juice 1 oz. of Galliano 1 oz. of banana liqueur

Bar Utensils

1 cocktail glass 1 Boston shaker 1 muddler 1 bar strainer 1 jigger

Mixing Procedure

  1. Take a Boston shaker and separate out its two parts. Now put 8-10 fresh grapefruits into the tin part of the Boston shaker and then muddle them up until they break completely and release out all their juices. Once done, throw some ice cubes over the crushed grapefruits and then add the Galliano, Gin and the banana liqueur.

  2. Now invert the other part of the shaker and then give it a heavy thump to lock the parts. Hold up the shaker and then shake it vigorously until the outside of the shaker turns cold and misty. Once done, take a chilled cocktail glass and then strain the drink directly into it.

Southern Bride Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. of grapefruit juice, fresh 2 oz. of Gin 3-4 dashes of Maraschino liqueur

Bar Utensils

1 muddler 1 cocktail glass 1 shaker 1 bar strainer

Mixing Procedure

  1. Prepare your cocktail glass by filling it up with ice cubes. Then take a shaker and throw some fresh grapefruits into it. Muddle up the grapefruits with a muddler and then add 5-6 ice cubes to them. After that, measure 2 oz. of Gin with the help of a jigger and then pour it over the ice cubes in the shaker.

  2. Next, add 3-4 dashes of maraschino liqueur to the mix and then close the lid of the shaker tightly to shake up the mixture. Once ready, hold a bar strainer over the shaker and then pour the drink into the glass after discarding the ice cubes from it.

Red Cloud Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. of lemon juice (freshly extracted) 2 oz. of Gin 1/8th oz. of grenadine 1/3rd oz. of apricot brandy A dash of angostura bitters

Bar Utensils

1 cocktail glass 1 bar strainer 1 citrus press 1 Boston shaker

Mixing Procedure

  1. Fill up a cocktail glass with ice cubes and then set it aside. Now take a fresh lemon and extract out 1 oz. worth of fresh juice from it. After that, fill up one part of the shaker with ice cubes and then pour the Gin, apricot brandy, angostura bitters, grenadine and the lemon juice into the other half of the shaker.

  2. Now lock the two parts of the shaker by inverting one of the halves over the other. Shake the shaker nicely for a few seconds and then set it aside. Now dump out the ice cubes from the cocktail glass and then strain the drink into it for serving.

Pink Lady Cocktail

Ingredients

½ oz. of grenadine 2 oz. of Gin 1 egg white 1 tablespoon of cream or half and half 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice

Bar Utensils

1 cocktail glass 1 citrus press 1 jigger 1 cocktail shaker 1 bar strainer 1 ice spade

Mixing Procedure

  1. Extract out 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice from a lemon by cutting it up in half and then by pressing it down in a citrus press. Once done, throw some ice cubes into a cocktail glass to keep it chilled and then fetch a cocktail shaker.

  2. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes and then pour the Gin, lemon juice, grenadine and the cream into it. After that, take an egg and break it open in half. Toss out the egg yolk and drop only the egg white into the cocktail shaker.

  3. Once everything is added, close the lid of the shaker tightly and then shake the mixture for 10-15 seconds or until the entire egg white mixes with the rest of the ingredients. Once done, strain the cocktail into the chilled cocktail glass and then serve it.

Alexander’s Sister Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. of Gin ½ oz. of heavy cream 2/3rd oz. of Crème de Menthe Ice cubes

Bar Utensils

1 old-fashioned glass 1 jigger 1 Boston shaker 1 ice spade

Mixing Procedure

  1. Pick some ice cubes with an ice spade and then throw them into a cocktail shaker. After that, add the Gin, Crème de Menthe and the heavy cream into one part of the Boston shaker after measuring out their required quantities with a jigger.

  2. Once done, put one part of the Boston shaker over the other and then punch the top part to close it tightly so that the two parts of the shaker don’t separate out while mixing the drink. Once done, shake the shaker for a few seconds to mix the drink and then serve it on the rocks in an old fashioned glass without straining the drink.
