Recipes For Mixed Cocktail Drinks

Variety and versatility are the two words which immediately pop into our minds whenever we think of mixed cocktail drinks. There is nothing like a glass of chilled cocktail served in a fancy cocktail glass or a masculine old-fashioned glass. Here are some of the most popular cocktail drinks you can try yourself to serve your guests.

Blue Blazer

Ingredients

2 oz. of Scotch whiskey 1 teaspoon of liquid honey 1 oz. + ½ oz. of boiling water 4 drops of lemon juice Lemon peel, for garnishing

Appliances

1 bar spoon 1 lighter 2 silver plated mugs 1 tray

Preparation Procedure

  1. Fetch a silver plated mug which should have a handle for easy carriage. Hold the mug in one of your hands and then pour the water and the Scotch into it. Add the honey and the lemon juice to the water and Scotch mixture and then stir up the mixture with a bar spoon to thoroughly combine all the ingredients.

  2. Once thoroughly mixed up, light up the mixture with a lighter and then immediately toss the mixture into another silver plated heat resistant mug. Toss the mixture 4-5 times without extinguishing the flame. Then place the mug aside and prepare the other mug by dropping a lemon peel into it. Once prepared, pour the burning drink into the prepared mug and then hold the other mug on top to extinguish the flame. Once done, serve the drink right away.

Brandy Eggnog

Ingredients

2 oz. of brandy ½ oz. of sugar syrup 3 oz. + 2/3rd oz. of milk A pinch of grated nutmeg ½ oz. of tawny port 1 oz. + 1/4th oz. of cream 1 large egg yolk

Appliances

1 bar strainer 1 shaker 1 jigger 1 highball glass

Preparation Procedure

  1. Pop a highball glass into the refrigerator to chill it. Let the glass stay in the refrigerator until it is completely chilled. Once that happens, fill up a shaker with a few ice cubes and then pour the brandy, sugar syrup and the milk into it. Follow that by adding the tawny port and the cream. Finally, crack-open the egg and toss only the egg yolk into the shaker.

  2. Once everything is added, shake the shaker 4-5 times to completely dissolve the egg yolk into the mixture and to combine all the added ingredients. Now take out the chilled glass from the refrigerator and place a bar strainer over it to strain the drink into the glass. Once strained, add a few ice cubes to the drink and then finally sprinkle a little grated nutmeg on top before serving.
